The Department of Geography at Miami University invites applications for a Graduate Assistantship working with the Myaamia Center starting in Fall 2021. The successful applicant will be admitted to the Department’s Master of Arts Program and receive a full graduate assistantship for two years with the Myaamia Center. Assistantship duties will focus on GIS data development and geospatial visualization for research related to the history and culture of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.
Upon graduation, our students have found successful careers in geospatial technologies, environmental analysis and protection, urban and regional planning, environmental/engineering consulting, and university administration. Many have also gained acceptance and funding offers from top doctoral programs.
Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, approximately 35 miles northwest of Cincinnati, Ohio. Oxford is a charming college town that offers both a vibrant small-town atmosphere and rural amenities, yet is within an hour of both Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.
