The City of Tipp City, Ohio seeks qualified applicants for the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Technician/ Project Manager position. Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director of Municipal Services & Engineering, the GIS Technician/ Project Manager will maintain, update, and create GIS data for Water, Sewer, Electric, Streets, Parks, & Engineering within SDE environment. Will lead GPS field data collection, Support Field Crews with GPS mobile units/data collection, Create & maintain ArcGIS applications & services, assist in non-GIS projects and tasks. Bachelor's degree preferred in geography, engineering, urban planning, or public administration with one (1) year experience working with ESRI suite of products (ArcMap, ArcEditor, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server) or; any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Preference given to those with local government experience, engineering/inspection experience/interest. Excellent oral & written communication skills a must. SWOGIS is announcing an all-day workshop on the ESRI Local Government Data Model (LGDM). The event will take place on Friday, March 27 from 9am - 3:30pm at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. This is must-opportunity for those with interests in local and county government, along with those in data sharing workflows to be able to migrate your data into an ESRI Local Government Informational Model. These data sets could include things like parcels, utilities or assets. As with most SWOGIS events, there is no cost to attend this event but you do need to RSVP.
Computers will be provided including a trial copy of ESRI ArcGIS for Desktop Basic 10.3 If there are enough registrants, there may be two people paired to a computer. The morning session will be a learning session filled with presentations and videos. The afternoon session will be a learning session of hands-on training where each user can bring their data and migrate it through the model. Users can then take their data back to the office with them.
